USBA Ranks and Titles
Rank is awarded for one score that meets the minimum score requirement for that rank per IFA rules. The title system requires three scores at or above the minimum for that title and level for the Expert and Master classes. Only one score is required for Junior and Novice titles.
Having both ranks and titles is good thing. Needing just one score for a rank gives instant recognition for that accomplishment. Needing three scores for a title preserves the idea that titles are earned over time and you must prove that you deserve them. Anyone with a previously established rank will automatically get an Expert or Master title in the USBA and should also get a boost in rank if their high score entitles them to it. You can't merge beginners because of the different distances and number of rounds requirements.
